Books and Resources We Love for Children
Books for Children
We often use selected books to help children work through emotional, social, and behavioral issues and life stressors. When children are able to relate to the themes or characters in the stories, they may have their feelings and experiences validated, gain better understanding of themselves and others, learn new adaptive coping skills, and open the door to address their own difficult issues.
You might find the following list of books helpful for use at home with your child. We can recommend additional resources based on a child’s specific needs.
